Open House

Yesterday we raised the curtain on our new kitchen; in preparation for today's soiree we lifted the vinyl barrier that has separated us from the kitchen (and contained most of the dust) for the past seven weeks.

And today we threw open the house for a glimpse of our work in progress. Because we have no real kitchen, we asked our guests to bring all the food--and they brought some good stuff!

We painted lines on the floor to indicate the position of the cabinets, and put a buffet table where the island is going to go--but it still required a lot of imagination to visualize the finished rooms.
