2010 ADZPCTKO Registration

Registration for 2010 is closed. The campground is full, and we already have a lengthy waiting list in case we have any cancellations. So, where does that leave you?

  • If you are a 2010 thru hiker who hikes into the event (or hitches a ride from elsewhere on the trail), we will find a place for you.
  • Everybody else: Seriously, we don't have any space available. DO NOT ARRIVE AT LAKE MORENA WITH THE EXPECTATION THAT YOU CAN SQUEEZE IN SOMEWHERE.
As you might know, we combine groups to fill each site to the maximum number that the park will allow. Even if there's a few square feet of unoccupied grass somewhere (or space in your buddy's trailer), you can't have it. We have to stay within the park's legal limits so that a) they'll let us come back next year and b) we don't ruin the experience for others by cramming in more people than can be accommodated by the restrooms, sewers, meal staff, etc.

If you weren't able to register in time, you're welcome to come out for the day. You might be able to stay at one of the following places, which you can also view on this map. Thanks to AsABat for compiling this information.

Campgrounds:

  • Cibbetts Flat (USFS) - 25 sites, no reservations.
  • Burnt Rancheria (USFS) - 109 sites, call (877) 444-6777 for reservations
  • Potrero County Park (just before Tecate) - 46 sites - call (619) 478-5212
  • A little farther just past Boulevard, in McCain Valley, BLM has two small campgrounds north of I-8 (Cottonwood [25 sites] and Lark [15 sites] campgrounds; Lark is an OHV area)
  • Golden Acorn Casino (619) 938-6000 - I'm told allows overnight parking in self-contained RVs.

Some motel possibilities:

Motels in Alpine (a longer drive):

I've stayed at NONE of the commercial camps or motels so no nothing more about them.
